Wip Week X

Greetings once again,

It has been some time, but I'll try to keep up with weekly updates. Let's hope I can keep it up :)

Well what have I been up to?  I've been following The independent characters for some time now and I've entered in there Hobby progress challenge.
If there ever was a gaming group/site/... I had to say I was a fan of these guy's would be it :)

Anyhow it got me to painting a new lot of blood angels, and up until now I got 2 5 man units done and 2 characters.  Not all that bad for a few weeks time.

I'm now planning on painting some assault veterans and an apothocary

Well that's it for now.  I'm planning on making more progress in the following week(s)
But for now I'll leave you with one more link for inspiration, it has been for me :)
There will be blood angels [Warseer]

Greetz one and all,

It has been a while since I posted another on the net.  Not that there are no cool things to show you all, its just that I've started sharing on the Goblin forums.  So to wrap it all in a nice little article here are some of the cool models and links I've shared over there :o)

No Idea

And so cool I couldn't pick a pic

Greetz one and all,

Recently I lack the time to search the web, I did find the time however to look at some old favorite forums and got some way cool new shiny thing from the net. Enjoy …

Greetz one and all,

I’ve been doing this on the net for some time now; and I must say it started as a need; the need to communicate cool links with my frinds; all to often we had talks where you talked about that cool thing you saw on the net somewhere but couldn’t remember the link or someone told me about some cool conversion over at some forum, but I was unable to retrieve it. So I did this on the net thing. Now I don’t even know how many people are reading this or even if my friends still stop by to check what I found on the net. It’s not so much a subject at the table any more these day’s. Any how I did find some rather cool things lately.

Greetz one and all,

I was working to get this on the net post more themed; but can't really seem to work it out. As a result I'm just posting what I found interesting in the past few weeks. As you can see I changed the layout of my blog. Most of the "on the net" stuff comes form the blogs I follow (see far right). But stop the rambling and on to the interesting stuff.

Greetz one and all,

After the big promises from last time; I now leave this behind me (for the time being) as I didn’t really find a lot of stuff that really captured my eye except for these posts. Not that there wasn’t any really cool content out there. I just didn’t get that carried away. Anyway here are some links I saw in the past few weeks.

Hitech miniatures [Hitech]
Some interesting models over there for those who haven’t seen it. Bit like the scibor marines.

Greetz one and all,

Like I said last time, I’d like to re-organise my “on the net post” One part being a themed part with some rant stuff and the other being a few cool extra links. Being a man of few words (on-line) my rant will never be to long, as I myself usually lose interest in to long texts, I’m not going to boar you with it ;o)

Today’s topic is a last minute one, I went over to “on the painting table” “on the painting table” and saw the post about the Marines. It scratched my count as itch, I love count as army’s as long as they look cool and convincing. One of my friends Koen (the other one) wants to start a Space wolf army, but dislikes the look and feel of them, so is going to use Dark Angels instead, those kind of idea’s make you want to look for replacements for wolfs and makes for great conversions.

my red praetorian grey knightless army [Bols]
A fine example of the one conversion, fixing this model and some small additions and including them in a pratorian apocalypse army how cool would that be.

Hrud and other dangerous aliens [Bols]
It’s been done a dozen times over and over; but using unsupported races such as Hrud; squats; Mechanicus; …

Legio custodes army [Dave Taylor]
A classic

Adeptus Mechanicus Army-ish...orky-is [Dakka]

and besides the rant I have the following to offer …
step by step coins bricks earth [Massive voodoo]
Brilliant idea for some terrain making in the future

dungeon display base pt2 [Massive voodoo]
And they make it look so simple …

Fuck Yeah Rogue trader [FYRT]
Always cool to review the old artwork.

Greetz one and all,

For some time now I’m looking for a way to theme my “on the net posts” I did it once with the Storm Raven
and again today with some alternatives. Why alternatives I hear you saying … Well simple, I read this post by Thor (creative twilight) about a more pragmatic look at the price raise. And if you ask me he’s right. We can blog all we want about how GW increases prises beyond our wallets ability’s and send all kind of mad letters of disappointment but if you want them to listen you need to fight fire with fire.

I know everything is getting more and more expensive, but increasing your prices and tuning the rules so you need more models for the same game (not to talk about Appocalypse or storm of magic is a bit to much. It’s a bit like raising the price of crude oil and only build Hummers.

But I have a lot of stuff in my bitzbox a lot of models begging for some paint so I’m not looking for big expanses. I’m looking for some lose figures for all kind of games. Expanding my focus from GW only to lots of Pulp thingy’s and adventures in the worlds of Warhammer gives me the freedom to look to all the other companies and finally get those cowboy’s done ;o)

Manticgames [Mantic]
If you never heard about these guys be sure to check out there undead, not a fan of the dwarfs and a bin indifferent about the orcks; but I love the zombies.

avatars of war [avatars of war]
They have some awesome characters and way nice Dwarf plastics

Lead adventure [Lead adventure]
some nice humans, but even cooler a lot of different/strange stuff (VSF/ post apoc)

Mannkinstudios [Mannkinstudios]
for the strange but beautiful

puppetswar [puppetswar]
lots of cool stuff; orks with sombrero’s got to love ‘em

I’m sure there is a lot more

In other news today …

Greetz one and all,

There are a lot of top 10 lists passing buy every week these days, this isn’t one of them.  These are just the things that where of intrest to me and the projects I’m “working” on.
Not a big list this week I’m afraid, didn’t do all that much surfing in the last few weeks; or at least didn’t keep record of it.  But here it is any way.

First up a special mention to our very own Goblin paint challenge.
We are all painting up the Clyde from leadadventures VSF Bonnie and Clyde.  If you feel like joining in let me know.

Gorkamorka [The Unnamed Gorkamorka Site]
Site with a lot of inspirational stuff for GM fans. I enjoy our campaign a lot; and that’s not ‘cus I’ve got the lead in XP but ‘cus all the other guy’s are fun to play with; even Grutz, although I do give them a hard time with all the “in character” trash talk.

trash bash 2011 final results [roebeast]
Talking about trash … I love these kind of competitions, and although I thought it would be over with all the new suppliers giving all kinds of alternative sets and GW defining it’s universe better, I am now re-discovering this area for all kind of Victorian SF or Wild West adventures or who knows what might come some day …

Chimera/Russ 'AVRE' [Ammobunker]
Man o man I love tanks. There are a lot of great idea’s over here, go check them out

Old Stuff day

Greetz one and all,

A few day's ago I found this post on Warhammer 39.999 a very cool initiative. It got me wondering; what is good enough on my blog, where am I proud of. There are a lot of things I like, series I want to keep going.
I'm not stopping with my Blood Angels and I'll keep going with my introducing ... although it's very quiet in these projects.

On to the old post; I like it because of the style, it all seems to fit. I wanted to write all my post in the same sense. And I try to keep some spirit in my posts, but this seems to be the best ever; and the first ;o)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
And here we are again;
2 posts in 1 day; must be my personal record.
A friend of mine (hi steven) asked me to make him some Halflings for a new super secret project for our club.
How to make halflings in 1 dinner

Ingredients:

1 courgette
2 red paprika’s
1l un spoiled water
1 Spice cube
1 old goblin spearman
1 halberd arm (bretonia)
1 head of choise
A pinch brown stuff.

First slice all your vegetables in small pieces and put on a light stove and brace with some butter.

Meanwhile you take the goblin and chop of the spear arm and head
Take a look at the vegetables; these should be braced lightly; add the water and leave to cook

Trim the neck and arm of your choise
Glue them on the goblin with super glue.

Take a look at the soup if the water is boiling add the spice cube.

Meanwhile the glue should have dried, and you are ready to add the brown stuff.

First off the belly, some puffy sleeves and last but not least the cheeks

Now your soup should be ready; pour your self a cup and enjoy for a moment.

Take a small walk trough the garden and enjoy the sound of the birds singing, the gentle touch of the wind through your hair. Take your last sip from the soup and go back in.

Your brown stuff should have cured for a bit by now. Time to do the finishing touches.

Adding the jacket, hair; and all other sorts of details

By now it should be time to start cooking diner. Put the Halfling on the shelve and start by picking your meat and vegetables

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=

Using this technique I made some others aswell
Ripper
Empire Mootlanders (in all sorts of units)

Greetz one and all,

Here again with my "on the net". First up; every one is talking about the stasis of From The Warp. Ron (the one running the show) decided to take things a bit slower. A thing I think all people bump in to once and a while. It’s a los to the Warhammer Bloggers. But there are still a lot of great things out there and these are the few thing I bumped in to.

Top Ten all time models (GW) [Santa Cruz]

Mentor Bolters [The Mentor Legion]
If I’m not mistaken this used to be a post on B&C, one of my favourites I might add.

Pre Heresy Space Wolves Conversions [Space Wolves]
An existing conversion idea by doghouse, I always wanted to get some done for myself. Space Wolfs to be specific, and this is a good example of how they should look

Review Instant Mold [Inquisitor Lord Aki]
A pro approach to the green stuff method

Shadow Force Dragomir [B&C]

Heresy Era Emperors Children [B&C]
