Introducing Mektown Madnez

Greetz one and all,

The last few day's I've been working on a new blog, this time not just for showing my own work, not even to show off our painting activities.  (although I hope painting does find it's way to the blog) but to share rules and idea's we (the Golden Goblins) have when playing this classic game.

So if you are an Ork fan, give this game a try or when you already play Gorkamorka come and visit us at the mektown.

But due to this new blog and the work I've put in to it, there were no Blood Angels painted this week.  better luck next week ;o)

WIP 08/06/2011

Greetings one and all,

This weeks work in progress is all about the Gorkamorka gang.  I’m almost there, but last night the official piece ended.  So the guy’s and myself decided to keep it going, and this means painting up some more orks for my expanding warband.   I finished my track lately and did the body work on the truck, but still a lot of details to add and some washes to do.

Gorka morka boss

greetz one and all,

The Gorka Morka season is almost at his end and I'm almost done with my foot troops ;o)  Don't ask me why it takes so long to get some models presentable, not even sharp.  But hey, it's fun to do any way .o)

I'm going to use these models for all sorts of project but not for an ork army (as stated before, no new army's for the moment)  But Inquisitormunda, Kill zone, ... enough opportunities if you are looking for them.

On to the model then,
I made this model using an old metal Black Ork head, fantasy head and left arm right arm is from the storm boys.  Back pack was made from a dreadnought torso left overs and a shoota.  All the rest is green stuff.

Paint wise I did basic colours and 2 highlights ending up with a mid tone dip.

Kaptin Kork is the pilot of the Red Vulture second Bomber of Stukker Squadron 4.  After there crash kork assembled the survivors and got to searching skrap and rebuilding his old glory bird

WIP Track

Greetings one and all,

It’s been a while since I last updated on my work.  It will be tough to reach my  1 model a week count at this rate.  But I must admit I didn’t even count this years loot yet.  Something for next month I think ;o)

Anyhow, this weeks WIP is the start of my last Gorka Morka piece, my track called “Ead”.  He will function as a tractor pulling several carts, but those are all for later.

This thing now is made up out of the body from a deff Dread (made a deal with a fellow nutcase for that one) some old trakc I had laying around, some buggy parts and terrain pieces from

WIP Feburay 16

Greetings one and all,

And again with Gorka Morka stuff.  Some of you might have noticed on the flicker account, I’ve made a lot more progress in the last few weeks. I now have finished 5 grots, 3 Gangers (excl 1 base) and 1 spanner

But I wanted to talk about the Nob; he is almost finished modelling wise. Still have to do some small details on the hat (right side of the icon), the collar and maybe some details on the back. He is not my best work ever, but I’m satisfied with the result.

For the bases; I’m going very lo-fi. It’s a simple sand coloured base (Iyanden Sun) with a Devlan Mud wash and some white grass finished the trims with some Tau Sept ochre. Not that Whaaaoouw, but effective none the less.

Power cables

Greetz one and all,

Today I’m not showing my progress of one or the other project, I’ll try to give you some kind of tutorial instead. I’ve seen various techniques to make power cables going from greenstuffing to guitar strings and just buying a pewter version.

Me I make my own cables using metal wire, I like the result and this is how I do it.

First pick your metal wire. I’ve got a rather thin (coated) one for the exterior line and a slightly thicker one for the core.

Wrap the small one around the ticker wire. Its just a lot of turning on the core wire, but all in all not a difficult job at all. (you do have to make sure the exterior cable (small one) is long enough).

Cut off the excess at start and end.

Glue in to place. And complete it with some last GS detailing

Hope you liked it.
