Der Gaukler vol 1
I backed the minimum starter (41€) which was the book only; my trove of opportunity is more then high enough as it is so I did not opt for the stl’s or mini’s. I went in to this kickstarter with some doubt; “I’m not that much of a rules dude” why would I buy a fan made expansion … Because I would like to make my own little book and this could be an inspiration … So now you know how I stepped in to this journey …
First up; the book came with a bit of damage; due to postage; I reached out to the publisher and immediately got response. Very nice as I’m expecting the man just got home from a full day at work.
The book is printed in a matt white with black and white illustration. Love the matt white, but ohh so delicate. And came with 3 postcard illustrations of high quality; already know who I’m sending them to :D
With 109 pages 42 articles and a lot of original art work I still have a lot to read through thoroughly. At first glace it contains a lot of inspirational work; warbands, scenery and tales from other Mordheim enthusiasts such as Adam Weir or Sam Lotfi, trips to conventions such as Mordheim MMXXII, Adepticon or even a pilgrimage to Nottingham, some rules for things like scavenging and a scenario at the graveyard.
So for me; it ticked all of the boxes, including rules but not to heavy, a lot of cool pictures to look at, a great journey to behold and a very inspiring book to add to my collection. It"s very much what I wanted but did not expect to get. A book very akin to a white dwarf with a lot of inspirational work; and a few rules to add if you want. Down side; I don’t like reading on the computer; so I’ll have to wait until the second volume comes to market otherwise I could join the patreon :D
Ohh and look it got me blogging again :D
