It has taken me longer then expected to write my next little article. Real life is a b*tch, with plans changing and time consumed. My priority in the hobby world is painting, followed by gaming, and in last instance blogging. So sorry folks; I don't know if I'll be able to do a weekly post or rather a more irregular interval for now. (probably the later)

But on to the business of the day, my Stirland Piper. It all started with me deciding to have a hobby night with my friend Koen. With a little less time and lots to talk about I decided to go for cutting and gluing rather then painting. So on to the bitz box and the quest for the next cool new project.

I see a lot of people (including my self) converting a fantasy model to a 40k theme, but i rarely see it the other way around. So we had a theme; converting a 40k model for Mordheim ... One of the models in my collection was the imperial commissar and with some bits and pieces, form my Empire projects I soon had the start of a piper.

My focus for Mordheim is in "the men of the ostermark" but with a Piper; I could not let the opportunity go to include the pied piper story. So my new hero had to come form some other then Ostermark, visiting Mordheim to clean it's streets. Stirlands seemd to be the best place to start my expancion.

To complete the job I made a dramatis personae for the model hereAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14634919619797885090noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1094384390391540873.post-82155234148468770112018-05-08T17:47:00.000+02:002018-05-08T17:47:01.662+02:00Introducing K1t 487

today I’m introducing a model I made last year, or rather in the last few years :) It's one of those figurines you know has a lot of potential, but for some reason you just can't seem to drag it out. I've worked on it several times but never got around to finishing the deal.

I'm not making any promises, but I spend a lot more time behind a brush these day's so I might as well post some words about my progress here. For the moment I'm working on everything and nothing all at once. The main focus being skirmish games and mainly Warhammer (fantasy and 40k) but with a big interest in Gaslands and some Wild West adventures in Tombstone ... To give me some focus the Goblins have provided me with this cool little thing called the Golden Goblin Bingo 2018 ... My challenges are:
1. Convert a model with a freehand greenstuff sculpt. (7)
(by the way; I just finished Magos (the last book) and it had some cool twists; nothing like reading Xenos the first time but quite compelling never the less)

2. <span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Bring something yummy for the tummy for a goblin night. (52)

<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Gaslands would be the easy route here, but I've also got a more "alternative" idea ...

I am not one to judge on rules and game play as I seldon actually play. This is not saying I'm not doing anything in the age of sigmar, I just find it liberating that all boundaries are gone while still leaving me with a wonderful collection of models, story's, rules and ideas :)

For the time spent on it the results are fine. But for you "dippers" out there; don't dip gold. The dip washes off all the shiny stuff and makes for a dull brown look. So I ended up re touching the whole model, and still wasn't satisfied with the results.

Anyhow, here are some crappy cellphone pictures (had some real life work and deliver the goods on time)

Greetings once again,

It has been some time, but I'll try to keep up with weekly updates. Let's hope I can keep it up :)

Well what have I been up to? I've been following The independent characters for some time now and I've entered in there Hobby progress challenge.
If there ever was a gaming group/site/... I had to say I was a fan of these guy's would be it :)

Anyhow it got me to painting a new lot of blood angels, and up until now I got 2 5 man units done and 2 characters. Not all that bad for a few weeks time.

I'm now planning on painting some assault veterans and an apothocary

But for now I'll leave you with one more link for inspiration, it has been for me :)
old stuff day is march 2nd; and what do you know that's today. I know I haven't been blogging for quite some time now, but maybe that can change (I'm not betting on it; but I am trying :) ) Fornow I am doing the best I can to keep involved with the comunity off-line and here and there online; and since I've got some back log on articles I can easily join in on old stuff day; so here we go.

The article I'm submitting for Old stuff day is my candle tutorial, I chose that article 'cus I keep going back to it myself and beceause I get a lot of questions about my candles every time I post a picture of one of my blood angels. The candles are reacuring theme on almost every base in my ever growing army.

I did some more work on my entry to millest terminator challenge

I still need to update the base a bit, and want to magnetise the base as I don't want to include this base in my actual army. Also I still have to drill the bolter barrels and other small things.

Further more I did some work on the terminators of my tactical squad, also need barrels drilled and bases need to be made etc. But for now I see this as objective reached :)

Last but not least I made some progress on my inq28/Iten bad guys :)
Greetz one and all,

I can't seem to find the time to write a decent post (not that i did in the past but you know what I'm talking about.

However I am still trying to keep the paint and green stuff flowing, and to show things I've decided to resurrect my tumblr account. Not that I don't like blogger, far from actually, I just don't want to spoil the work I've put in to the style and lay-out of this blog to go to waste.

So if you want to keep following what I'm doing, click on the "wip tumblr" page.
Greetz one and all,

This week's WIP is actually something that's for a friend of mine who wanted some cool looking Paladins and wanted to use the Dark Angel Knights bits. I suggested using Grey Knight back pieces.
In the end there are still some Dark Angel icons to fix, I guess filling the gap in the broken sword should do the trick.
Greetings one and all,

In the past month I've been
up to a lot of stuff, an nothing all at once. I've almost finished my
Rouge Trader for ItEn, worked some more on my grav car, and started working on
my Archangels army.

The Archangels are the Blood
Angels first company and my new 40k project. Don't worry I'm not blowing
off my ItEn stuff (although there is a chance I'll be using other rule sets as
well). As a matter of fact I’ve just
joined the Ammobunker forum and it’s filled with cool Inq28 stuff, and I’ve
created a pinterest account to gather all the cool idea’s I see on the
net. I’ll make a link on the side bar
for that later on.

But back to my Archangels;
as a lot of you probably did, I bought a box of dark vengeance. I was planning on painting what was inside,
just the way it was supposed to be. A
rather amities goal for me, not that I thought it was to hard to paint, but not
converting all those models; now that’s a challenge.

And it seems I’ve lost that
challenge. Didn’t get the green I wanted
to get, in the way I wanted to get it.
So out with the Dark Angels, but what now with the models… I found someone that could use the tacticals,
leaving me with bikes and terminators.
So this year I’ll gather all my terminators and start painting them. As it turns out I’ve got quite a few more
then I would have guessed :o)

Anyway, here are the first
results; 2 apothecarys and 4 assault terminators. They’r not done yet, but
there is progress :o)
Happy 2013 to all,

For some reason or another this seemed the best opportunity to look at what became of my last new years resolution ... Not so great, I didn't get anything done for fantasy this year except this one model! So no quest updates yet :(. Maybe 2014 :)

I did make a lot of ItEn progress, bolstering a collection of 34 painted models and a bunch of wip. Stuff ;)

My bloodangels didn't grow as much as I would have liked, but they did get some addition, and I'm still working on new models :). The Dark Angel project, I'm not sure about yet; maybe I'll dump it in the next few weeks. I love the models but can't get the colors to work for me :(

So on the model count this "year" a not so great -100. Lets hope next year will bring us some more good news :)

So what are my plans for the new year???

A) More ItEn stuff; it's just to nice and easy to work with.
A+) I'll be doing some narative campaign of some sort

B) Blood Bowl. I started some Ork Piratez years ago; I'll get them from under the dust rapper there in and start crushing some balls :D

C) still try and get some fantasy flowing, using Mordheim or Quest or what ever.

But stay tuned and find out what I get done :o)
Greetz one and all,

I've been listening to a lot of these audio drama's en
novels while I'm painting, and I must say its a rather pleasing little extra.
Usually I sit by myself when I'm painting and more often than not I’m
listening to music. Listening to a story
gives a bit of inspiration and a nice story to think about ;)

So yesterday afternoon I went by my
flgs, and saw Bloodquest, I’ve enjoyed the comic books several years ago. I don’t remember all exact details of the trilogy
but in short it gave a more personal character to the space marines of the
Blood Angels. They brought captain
leonatos and his crew on a penitent quest to redeem there honor and join de ranks
of there legion once more.

I thought after the experience with
novels, character creation and a more grim-dark feel to the universe a
Bloodquest Redux could be rather nice indeed.
Unfortunatly that is not what they did, the story is about a Demonworld where IG are being hold prison. For me the whole character of this world, its
people and conflicts gives a 40k of the 80’s feel. Which could be good if you’re in to that kind
of thing, but the story lines are way to simple, the dialogues hollow, and no
grim-dark at all.

I’m usually not so harsh for the
things I review, I like to look at the silver lining of every thing I buy and
review. But this time the disappointment
is a bit to hard I guess. I will however
keep enjoying audiodrama’s J

Greetz one and all,

Today I bring you yet another one of my ratling adventurers for ItEn (link) using the same frame as before. As a matter of fact I did this model more then a year ago, I just now got around to pain thing him :)

The model: as I said before the same technique (link) was used as with the others (link) this time using a empire helmet, bretonian body, melta bomb, terminator codpiece, ig grenade launcher, some wire and a lot of green stuff.

The paint job: I used the same base colors as before but in a different shade to give it all a bit more personal feel. As such I didn't record the used colors. Important note on the white however; I loved dheneb stone, but it is no longer supported by gw. So now I went for .... A good match I think.

The stats: the standard stats came from the ItEn book stormtroper, the special equipment are my imagination. I hope my game buddies like 'em ;)
Some say the number one is reserved for the Emperor himself, others belive Ripper doesn't want to call him self number one. Sizdah doesn't realy mind bearing the cursed number, it seems to be one of those things that cross his life every once and a while; being recruted for the 13th company of Gomorak, born on the 13th and growing up in Habcontinent ... 13.
